PROJECT BACKGROUND As a result of fresh insurgency of LRA rebels and the floods that hit the northern parts of Uganda Teso Region in particular, there was an urgent need for shelter, food medicine and clothes. DRIP collected various items from volunteers and other well-wishers including food, clothes, household accessories, medicine, mosquito nets, purifying tablets, blankets and money to mention but a few. On the 19 th October Pastor Joseph Serwadda led a team of 8 people with 36 tones of assorted goods and these were delivered to the Flood victims in Amuria District particularly in Kapelebyong camp and also in Katakwi district for various camps. The project leaders learnt that there was urgent need for more items especially household accessories, medicine, mosquito nets, purifying tablets, blankets and food. On January 18 th 2008, Pastor Joseph Serwadda again led another team to the Kenyan High Commission and handed over 20 tones of various items including clothes, food, household accessories, medicine, mosquito nets, purifying tablets and blankets to the representative of Kenya High Commission. Drip also supported a team of Pastors from Eastern Uganda who had offered shelter to over 300 refugees from Kenya .
