Ugandan Christian Radio Network set to IMPACT Southern Sudan

In July 2011, a new nation was born in East Africa, the South Sudan. While everything seems to be in place, we feel that this new nation is ready to welcome the gospel and keen to receive Christian teaching and instruction.

This is a time of such unprecedented opportunity, and we have a project for which most of the key ingredients are already in place. The programming content is already out on the air waves; right now ALPHA FM is broadcasting the very things that Uganda’s newest neighbours are longing to hear. In Kampala we have all the studios and up-link equipment required to speed God’s word to this new nation on Uganda’s doorstep where enquirers are waiting for God’s word and believers are looking for spiritual nourishment.

Friends, we need your help to reach Southern Sudan. We request for your prayer and monetary support as we cannot afford to miss this opportunity. We have decided to connect ALPHA FM’s programming to Southern Sudan’s demand. A transmission site in Gulu or Kitgum towns, in the north of Uganda is all that it will take. We simply must meet this need. The impact of Christian broadcasting in the Sudan is a subject of great interest.

And there is an additional benefit. A transmitter in the area will mean that the neediest areas of Uganda itself will be able to tune-in to ALPHA FM with ease. Because radio reaches 80% of Uganda’s population, we will have created a two-nation outreach from one well-established quality source.
