| IS MOHAMMED A TRUE PROPHET OF GOD? |

Dr. Joseph Serwadda | 11th Oct, 2007 The Daily Monitor In my last encounter with Sunday Vision, I carefully called the Islamic book, the Qur'an. I spelt it for you. The text you produced in your Sunday Alive Magazine, you called it, the Koran. Your spelling is totally alien to Arabic. In Arabic grammar, there are only 3 vowels, namely, a, i, u. The vowels, e and o are not known and are not included in an Arabic name or word. So the words Moslem, Koran, Mecca, Medina, Mohammed should be Muslim, Qur'an, Muhammad, Makkah, Madinah and so on and so forth. The extended vowel system was adopted when jihadists wanted to infiltrate the Western world and decided that it would be absurd to sell an idea that eliminated major English language components, such as vowels. In the same way, the letters c, p, v and x are non usable in Arabic grammar. The inter-changeability of the letters Q and K, is another matter which we can discuss in another session. Now back to your question, l told you that there is no dispute as to the prophet-hood of Muhammad as long as it is understood that he represented a specific god, called Allah. We believe that there is a vast difference between the god of Islam whose book is the Qur'an and the Judeo-Christian God of the Bible. Plain and simple, we do not worship the same God. In the Bible, several gods appear with their prophets and the Bible does not mince words on calling them just that, prophets. There was 400 prophets of Ashtaroth a Canaanite she-god in 1 Kings 18:19, 450 prophets of Baal a Phoenician he-god 1 Kings 18:22, and it cannot be strange to any Christian scholar that any god can have a prophet! The list of gods mentioned in the Bible is interesting too. Apart from the two just mentioned, there was Baal-peor worshipped by the Moabites, Chemosh of the Hivites, the Phillistine god Dagon popularized in the days of Samson, Diana a serpent she-god of Ephesus, Molech of the Ammonites and a host of others. It is not surprising for me to see the Arabic world worshipping a deity of their own. Muhammad distinguished himself as Allah's prophet. The Noble Qur'an states “ Surat An Naml 27: 91 “ I (Muhammad) have been commanded only to worship the Lord of this city (Makkah) who has sanctified it and to whom belongs everything. And I am commanded to be from among the Muslims (those who submit to Allah in Islam)” Nothing could be clearer. Quite simply, Allah is not Jehovah. The God of the Bible clearly calls Himself the God of Israel. When Pharaoh was confronted by Moses, he said, who is this God? The import here is Egypt worshipped another god other than the one Moses was advocating for! The Arabic world was a world of idol worship. Did Muhammad perform any miracles? |
